The Washington Post Magazine - Kariwatashi
Illustration for The Washington Post Magazine’s Art with a Point section, based on the theme autumn/fall.
“‘Kariwatashi’ refers to the cold wind that blows in early autumn, reminding us of the months ahead. I was inspired by this word and wanted to re-create the fleeting moment when summer intersects with autumn — when we reminisce about the fun of the past few months, but also look forward to a quieter season.”
